Bruno Levy
Bruno Levy leads Strategyn France. Mr. Levy and his team are well versed
in helping companies execute a variety of growth and innovation
strategies, whether early-stage start-ups trying to define a new market
or mature companies dealing with hypercompetition and disruption. He
serves as a trusted adviser to a variety of companies, including
Microsoft, Isodisnatura, NewsFutures, Ozé, Xaga, Nu-Swift International,
and Infisim.
Before joining Strategyn, Mr. Levy served as a consultant to early-stage
software publishing companies, helping them achieve chasm-crossing
momentum and profitability. He started his career as an entrepreneur,
when the death of his father forced him to take charge of his family’s
civil engineering firm (12 employees). He sold the business after two
years and 30 percent yearly growth. After several years spent in the
United States furthering his education, he came back in France, where he
joined ILOG, a technology start-up, and developed ILOG Solver,
revolutionary resource optimization software.
Mr. Levy went on to cofounded Hypermind, a boutique multimedia publisher
that specialized in explaining the big questions of science to the
general public. While at Hypermind, Mr. Levy coauthored and published
three titles that sold hundreds of thousands of copies worldwide. His
multimedia titles have received some of the most prestigious industry
awards for their entertaining content, quality of design, and for the
uniqueness of the interactive experience they deliver.
Mr. Levy next co-founded Smart Trade Technologies, a publisher of
trading platforms and engines for financial OTC markets. Here he was in
charge of formulating the market development strategy and raising funds
for the company. The Smart Trade platform is currently used in banks
worldwide, including three among the 10 largest banks in the world.
Mr. Levy is an engineer from French École Polytechnique. He holds
master’s degrees in electrical engineering and in industrial
administration from Carnegie Mellon University (with honors). He was the
first Carnegie Mellon University student to earn both degrees at the
same time.
Mr. Levy was also won a Japanese Ministry of Education (Monbusho)
scholarship that enabled him to study the economics of robotic systems
at Tokyo University.
